An impressive championship run at The Clash XIV in Minnesota last weekend propelled Buchanan (Clovis, Calif.) up four spots in the latest USA TODAY High School Sports/National High School Coaches Association Super 25 Wrestling Rankings.
Buchanan, which defeated No. 7 St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio) and No. 13 Tuttle (Okla.) on the way to the title, is ranked No. 2 this week.

Former No. 2 Blair Academy (Blairstown, N.J.) fell to No. 4 after a close 27-24 dual-meet loss on the road to No. 5 Graham (St. Paris, Ohio). The Buccaneers remain one spot in front of Graham based on a narrow loss, plus impressive performances at The Ironman and Beast of the East Tournaments in December.
Wyoming Seminary (Kingston, Pa.) remains in the top spot.
This weekend, we’ll find out how good No. 3 Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.) is when the Crusaders travel west to participate in the Doc Buchanan Invitational that will feature No. 2 Buchanan and No. 6 Clovis at Clovis High School in California.
Washington (Ill.) Community at No. 17 and Mount Carmel (Chicago) at No. 24 are the lone newcomers.
